The British Archery Postal League
Established over 40 years ago this winter competition is for archery clubs to enter teams of 3 archers including juniors in any or all four leagues, Portsmouth and Frostbite (recurve and compound).
At the end of the season (November – March) trophies are awarded to the team with the highest unadjusted score in each of the four leagues. Division winning teams receive medal badges and league medallions are awarded to the highest overall scoring Lady, Gentleman, Junior Boy and Junior Girl in each league.
At the start of the season; each month a day is selected for the shoot in advance and this should not be changed even if insufficient archers turn up unless the weather is entirely unsuitable, all archers must shoot at the same time on this day. After the shoot the supplied result sheets are completed, top 3 archers form the A team next three the B team and so on. The fixture list will give you your teams division number, the figure in brackets next to the division number is the division score to this you add the allowance (shown on the score sheet) this will give you the threshold score for your team, if their total score exceeds this it will need to be adjusted as item 5 on the rule sheet. Copies of the score sheets are sent to the BA Postal League (as item 2 on the rule sheet) and your opponents, to find your opponent see grid at the top of the fixture list, score sheets can be emailed or posted, the above is repeated for each month of the season.
